Tips to Make an Elegant Wedding Veil
A recent article, Make a Veil with Rhinestone Edge, Beading, or Lace Trim says that your style preference and your comfort will tell how your veil will look like.
A plain gown will be surprisingly elegant with a wedding veil decorated with a trim made of crystals, with rhinestones or larger embellishments such as decorative butterflies, rosebuds, florals made from pearls or sequin designs.
Below are some tips on how to design your wedding veil.
What You’ll Need:
1. Clear glue that holds very tightly.
2. Toothpicks/straight pins for applying glue.
3. Non-porous work surface like glass cutting board (prevents glue from transferring to other areas of your veil.
Shaped veil fabric.
4. Embellishments, beading, crystals, trims like rhinestone and sequin beaded bridal trim,
Note: Wedding supply can be purchased online or from a local store.
Gluing the Trim
1. Mark the edge of the veil with a pencil to glue the trim onto it.
2. Place the material on top of your surface smoothing it out
3. Apply straight pins to the beginning of the veil section of your tulle.
4. Squeeze some glue out onto a separate surface for easy and quick use.
5. Using a toothpick carefully add glue to the underside of the trim and place along the edge of your veil.
6. Let the glue set before moving anything. Carefully move to the next section.
7. Keep moving around until you’ve completed the entire veil.
Putting embellishments
If you want to decorate the surface area of your veil, be creative. For instance, randomly scatter crystals, beads, or pearls and glue them where they fall, or create a pattern –start with larger pearls or beads near the bottom of the veil and add smaller ones as you move upward to create an aesthetically pleasing pattern and to avoid having too much weight higher on the veil.
